Cover art for Tell Me: a fisheye photo of a curly-haired man in a grey T-shirt crouched low on a wooden studio floor, arms flung wide and face pushed into the lens, under a curved teal wall and a skylight, a Parental Advisory label in the bottom corner

Tell Me

Tell Me is the first song Amanda Kurt and Mattricks Lauer wrote together, and it's a social statement: about a poverty gap that keeps widening, a culture that sexualizes everything it sells, and a ruling class that keeps creating new problems for everyone else to live inside. The voice in it has lost its money and its footing and can't get a straight answer, so it keeps asking: tell me why I'm scared, tell me why I have no money left, tell me who I am. It's digital grunge, explicit, and it means it.

Lyrics

Intro

I

I said do you mind

I

I said do you mind

Red Panties

FUCK

Tell me where my red fucking panties went

Tell me why i have no money left

If you know about me come on over lets chit chat

If you know about me come on over.

If you know about me come on over lets chit chat

If yo know about me come on over

Chorus

Tell Me, Tell Me why i'm scared

Why dont you Tell Me, Tell Me, why I have no money left

Tell Me, Tell Me who I am?

Tell Me

Rabbit Hole

Inside a rabbit hole I'm climbing out in pieces

Please tell me if this is blood I'm looking for the reasons

I sin so fucking much yet I still have Jesus

Yeah, I sin so fucking much yet I still have Jesus

I don't know what is up, I'm hanging down

I don't know what is up, I'm hanging down

Chorus 2

Down, Hanging, Tell me why I'm scared.

Down, Down, Tell me why I have no money left.

Tell Me, Tell Me who I am

Tell Me

Loved Ones

I'm looking for my loved ones

They must be here in the jungle

I'm feeling ridiculed here.

I'm looking for my loved ones

They must be here in the jungle

I'm feeling ridiculous here.

Chorus 3

Tell Me

Tell me, tell me, tell me

I'm hanging down, I'm hanging down

Tell Me

Down down, hanging down

Tell Me

Down down

and if you know about me come on over

The line being sung lights up while the song plays.
